Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōji Kumeta. It follows the life of Nozomu Itoshiki, a teacher who has a negative outlook on life and satirizes politics, media, and Japanese society. The manga was serialized from April 2005 to June 2012 and has been adapted into several anime television series and OVAs. It has gained popularity with over 5 million copies sold as of April 2011.
