Zyword is a single-volume manga created by ex-Clamp member Tamayo Akiyama. It was first published in Japan by Kadokawa Shoten in September 2000. The story revolves around an unbalanced dimensional structure held by three connection spells called Dawn, Deep, and Omega. These spells are unstable and make Zyword vulnerable to chaos. The three Goddesses of Zyword betray its citizens and cast them under a spell that could cause them all to die in eternal sleep. Lunatia Araimel and her friend Roddy Lederide are the only ones able to escape the spell. Luna, a 14-year-old spell decipherer, and Roddy, a 15-year-old, embark on a journey to save their fellow citizens from the everlasting sleep.
